Great book with Traditional Mandarin on one side and the English on the other. Few words per page so your little one can see the correlation between the two languages. My 6 year old who is learning from her Nai Nai thinks it's really neat and looks forward to reading it in both languages.

Bought this for my 5 year old who will start learning Chinese, it's a bit young/short for him. But would be great for a toddler.

The instructions were simple and easy to follow. The one thing I didn't like though was that there weren't any pictures. I like to see pictures in cookbooks to have an idea of what the finished product should look like.*I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*

Full disclosure, I skimmed. I skimmed over the introduction, so this might be in there already. I need someone to tell me the baking dish they are using in the instant pot. I have a 6 quart and I dont know other than my springform pan that will go in there. I ordered this one week before I'd have to go in and take the CSET Multiple Subjects exam. I planned to take all three parts on the same day and I had no preparation going in except for this book. Obviously I could not utilize as much of it in that time as I would have liked. But what I did read was actually on the test, and had I not picked up this book I can definitely say I would have failed the exam. There were sections about linguistic terminology that, frankly, I wasn't even aware of until I read this book's chapter about it. The history section is also a good refresher if you've forgotten a lot of what you might have learned a long time ago and need a quick rundown centered around what will probably be on the test. And sure enough, the parts that I read about were included as essay questions in the actual exam. Perhaps I was just lucky, but at the very least I can say that in hindsight studying from this book did not feel like a waste of time at all. Would recommend this.

Best investment! Once I complete my tests, I will still use this book as a great resource tool for the classroom. The book is packed with Fifth Grade information as well as other grade levels. I am super happy with this book!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So many times I have taken and failed the cset. I have so many other books so I thought I would try this one out. I passed. Is it the book? Maybe. But if I knew this last year when I started taking these tests I would have just gotten this book. It’s laid out well, has many items it goes over, has quizzes, helps you with essays. But I’m gonna be honest, the edsays they give you in the book are nowhere near the essays on the actual test. I’ve been asked so many random questions, you really need to read everything.

Don't waste your money on anything else. I bought other guides and ended up throwing them away- I know I should have returned them.This guide is fantastic. It is so comprehensive and has so many samples tests. The only improvement that I would suggest is that there are sections of the guide that do not have enough detail on terms and concepts that are mentioned, in the context of general topics. I ended up doing a lot of individual research to make my studies more robust.In retrospect, I could not have passed my CSET tests without this guide. I'm so grateful to the people who rated this product, which helped me decide to buy it.

This book helped me pass subset 1 and 3, but i felt very unprepared for subset 2.

This has helped me sooooo much! It truly has prepared me to take the CSET and I feel super confident! Do not take any of the expensive courses they offer at colleges just buy this book and you are set to go!

I heard about this book in one of my preservice classes, and without it, I would not have been able to pass my tests! I love how they have explanations for all of the answers and different versions of practice tests. I tried many online sites first, but this was by far the most helpful resource I used.

I passed all three CSETs in one go! I used this book and every online practice test I could find. I found that the examples in this book were pretty similar to what was actually on the CSET.

Fascinating book...I had a personnel interest in this book as my dad knew Dieter and they went hunting many times together. I remember him as a kind, quiet person. I remember when he escaped and my dad's reply was, if anyone could escape it would have been Dieter so it did not surprise my dad. I was glued to the book and had a hard time putting it down. His ability to go into such details about his experience was riveting. I would highly recommend it, true story written by his own hand. It was a lot his survival skills along with a whole lot of luck, that he was able to his escape.

Having served on board the USS Ranger during the time of Dieter Dengler's plane being shot down, his capture, escape, and subsequent rescue, I now have - in his own words, a copy of - "the rest of the story."

This reviewer has read several P.O.W. tales. Each is disturbing yet stirring. Each paints a picture of physical and mental courage in face of overwhelming physical, military, personal odds. What sets "Escape from Laos" apart is the sheer mystery surrounding the Indochina war in that mysterious landlocked country. Even those of us who served in Vietnam (but were spared combat) can at least relate geographically to many stories. We could locate Cu Chi, An Khe and Khe Sanh on a map. But Laos? To orientate ourselves, EFL is the tale of a Navy Pilot, Dieter Dengler and his escape from a Pathet Lao POW camp in eastern Laos. My edition's one map shed no further geopgrapical light on the situation. Inferior maps no longer surprise this reviewer. Dengler escapes his surprisingly undisciplined guards easily enough. But what amazes the reader, almost boggles the mind, is the sheer geographical challenge he faced. Could remotest and wildest Vietnam be so brutal? And how did the guy feed himself in the bush and deal with the "animal creatures" encountered along the way. I wasn't aware-but surprised! - That the PL and VC tried to lure rescue choppers to their doom with phony escapees signaling for rescue. I also wasn't aware -but was surprised -that POWs ATE the rats they captured! We gave them to our mamasan to dump. Dengler (obviously) made it to freedom but his good news opens up another unpleasant subject. Over 500 men went missing in Laos. We know that our sniveling Ambassador to Vientiane, one William Sullivan, actively discouraged rescue operations. But only 10 men emerged alive from the 500! One was Dengler.9 more were released but via HANOI! Where are the others? At the time of this review, 377 men remain unaccounted for in Laos. It is sad and strange that such a wonderful tale has to share such an unpleasant spotlight but we simply cannot ignore the other MIAs. Yet the bottom line here is Dengler. His heroic escape should be an inspiration to all of us. He is a shining credit to this country and to the Navy. Period!

What a tale of human endurance.

Mine will be the eleventh review of this book and consistent with my reviewing colleagues, I too give this masterpiece a 5-star rating. So, Dieter, wherever you are, you are 11 for 11. Not too shabby. (For those of you who didn't know, Dieter passed away in 2001 from ALS.)But what's so good about it? In a word, honesty. He simply told it like it happened, confident the story would do the work. No bluster, no bravado, and best of all, it does not read like a medal citation the way so many first-hand accounts of this genre do. Just simple honesty.A collateral benefit of this story is how different we modern westerners are from the Third World. Today, we struggle over dealing with unsavory characters, whether torture can play a valid role in the 'War on Terror,' whether it's okay to incarcerate someone without due process. People of the Third World would think those issues are absurd, they have no such issues, might is right. I hope we continue to struggle and I hope we ultimately get the right answer because I shudder to think what kind of a nation we would become if we allow ourselves to lapse into the Third World's law of the bush.Third worlders aren't all bad. Dieter himself was surprised at the impact the occasional act of kindness had on him as he moved through his gaunlet of horror. And these acts were by no means casual. If the perpetrators had been caught, they would have been severely punished, possibly executed.Bottom line: if you have a copy, keep it safe. Well written and a real page turner.

This is a first hand account of Mr. Dengler's experience as a POW during the Viet Nam war. He writes like a man without a lot of "fluff" and just the facts. it reads fast. I enjoyed it but then read the other book of the same story written by another author and enjoyed that more because it included more about his younger life and his personality. Still a great read and full of action.

Best book I read in 2007 and I'm squeamish about war narratives. Riveting, astounding, a profile of courage and mental agility. This is the bible of survival techniques.I shudder to think what details were edited OUT of this book.I also recommend the film "Little Dieter Needs to Fly" where Dengler himself takes one back to the scene of these horrors.Little Dieter needs to Fly

I bought this repair manual mainly because I needed a wiring diagram for my boat so that I could do some diagnostics and repair. I didn't expect to get a repair manual that was as good as this one is. It is readable and contains very good diagnostic and component testing information.Most aftermarket repair manuals aren't worth the paper they are printed on. THIS ONE IS DIFFERENT. I have owned name brand shop manuals that weren't as well written as this manual. Of course the user of this manual needs to have a fairly good understanding of internal combustion engine operation including the basics of fuel injection for it to be useful, but the information of how each system works, fault isolation, trouble codes, and sensor testing are detailed in this book.To use this manual one does need to sit down, actually read it, and understand what the manual is saying. Fortunately this manual is written in a way that reading it is very straight forward. Of course, if you are hoping that you can hook up a scan tool, waive the book over your engine, say a few magic words, and have it magically fix your boat, you will be disappointed.Pro's- - The book covers a limited number of years that are all related by some set of common technology. Many aftermarket repair books cover a decade of models and only have general information. - The book has specific information about specific models - Most of the diagrams are easy to read/see - The color coded wiring diagrams are very valuable - The general maintenance information is good - The book often tells you why, not just whatCon's - Even though the year range is limited, you still have to be careful that the information you are reading pertains to your specific engine or outdrive. - Some of the photographs (a very small number) that show the location of certain items are too dark to see what is being shown which I suspect is a printing problem and is not due to the original artwork.Overall I rate this book to be VERY GOOD as far as repair manuals are concerned.

Seems pretty thorough with the major components but lacking on the small things (Instruments, hardware, bilge) that a novice DIY-er would take on theirself. I'm basing this on my expectations having used numerous Automotive Haynes/Chilton's/Shop Service manuals over the years.

This is a great book. It has every engine and outdrive spec you'll need. Lots of pictures.

I bought this one for my regal lsr 2100 with a Volvo penta 4.3 gl and sx drive. The manual cover both things, very detailed. This manual is the kind of manual you can read like a children's book, from the beginning to the end. It covers all the maintenance plus engine repair.A very good investment if you are a DIY

Ordered this manual since it's been so hard to find a mechanic to take a look at the boat. Within a few minutes, it paid for itself 10 times over. First problem diagnosed was a relay. I did look on the Volvo website to try to order it. Price was $24 on Volvo so I shopped and was able to find it for $4, big difference. It suggested a tool to diagnose other problems so ordered it and will proceed with that.

Worth buying as a secondary manual to the SELOC. If you can only buy one, go for the SELOC manual

Excellent resource for my husband for working on his boat.
