I bought this book with low expectations because many photographer’s books offer only platitudes and a few pictures and little real instruction or advice. This book is for both the nature lover and professional photographer to admire an exceptional body of work and for the non-professional to learn so much from an experienced photographer. I gain something new every time I open the book. I highly recommend purchasing Wildlife Photography. It is worth every penny and more. It will also make a fabulous gift.

Richard Bernabe is a world-renown photographer and this latest book is a beautifully put together guide to wildlife photography. Laid out in logical sections from general equipment basics to strategies and info on travel for wildlife photography, this is a very easy and enjoyable read. Sections are short and clear. Examples are always included and help make the information very practical.If you like wildlife photography (whether a newbie or pro) you'll find plenty to like in this book. And it's just flat out beautiful! Bernabe's photos are amazing (I follow him on Twitter and have seen so many wonderful shots of his).As an advanced amateur, I highly recommend this book.

I just got Wildlife Photography by Richard Bernabe Photography and I highly recommend it if you want to level up your outdoor photography game.I was expecting a good book, but I wasn’t expecting it to be so comprehensive. It caters to all skill levels by covering everything from the basics of tech to the nuances of composition and how to shoot wild subjects. The stunning images and mini travel guides add great context to his tricks of the trade.I hope I can go to a couple of his destinations and try it out for myself someday. Until then, I’m going to get a picture of that Snowy Owl. Well, maybe not, but I’ll have fun trying.

I have followed Richard Bernabe for many years, and am always impressed with both his photography and his life philosophy. Along with his creativity, artful eye, and technical knowledge, Richard also has an innate sense of how to make a picture 'real', that is he presents not just an image, but also a feeling for its lifestyle, and survival needs. When you look at a Bernabe landscape, you are IN the picture, it surrounds you. This book's cover photo resonated strongly with me, in an almost 'expect the unexpected' kind of way'. A simple, calm, photo, beautifully shot to convey the glories of nature, its ability to present the viewer with an emotion, a sensation. The message is clear, it draws you into the rest of the book, where Richard presents his 'lessons' in ways that are concise, complete, and understandable. I find his work especially attractive in so many ways because he is a man who has found his bliss, has carved his path, and is willing to impart his art and his expertise to all of us who would perhaps thus be tempted to venture forth in his footsteps. Bravo, Richard Bernabe!

Wow. Let’s start by saying that when I saw the cover of this book I felt in love with it. And I guess I was right it feels amazing it’s a soft material, you feel like you are traveling with the author. Delicate. When I opened the book for the first time and saw the author biography I knew right there it’s a book to enjoy. The introduction takes you into the life of Richard and his traveling experiences. As a new photographer I see how this book it’s already helping me understand the details, the beauty of simplicity. I'm a fairly beginner photographer and I can say that I can't wait to delve into this book more. Of course the images are inspirational but I just love that there are such well written explanations of basic techniques like ISO, aperture and shutter speed. There is an incredible chapter on light which to me is the most important element in capturing an image. My favorite thing, though, is there are suggestions about gear that are actually within my budget....lot of sources suggest things that are totally unreasonable. Mr. Bernabe provides insight into expeditions and travel both abroad and gives ideas for trips and opportunities that dont require a passport or a lot of time away from work. All in all it's the best Christmas present I've gotten in a long time!

Richard is a fine wildlife photographer with many years of worldwide travel and shooting experience. This book is equally valuable for beginners as well as pro shooters who are interested in photographing wildlife. There are no downsides to this book. It is straight-ahead advice and suggestions. Well worth the time and money. Get it.

I enjoyed the local library copy of the original James Herriot book, but this "revisited" edition was a disappointment. Not nearly as many photos of the quaint villages, the photos are much smaller (not full page, and in fact about half page) and the narrative is not as lively or personable as the original's. Go for Herriot's original!

This is a really nice followup to the earlier James Herriot's Yorkshire. It really is a followup, rather than a revised edition. The text of the first book is all Alf Wight narrating his way through photos of Yorkshire. Absolutely great stuff. The text of this second book is mostly excerpts from James Herriot's stories, with a completely new set of photos. Buy the first book first.

I have read and thoroughly enjoyed all of James Herriot's books so knew I would love his book on the Yorkshires. The photography is stunning and the narratives quite descriptive. I can picture James in his rounds of the outlying farms rattling along is his ancient car and stopping periodically to take in the breathtaking views. This book enhances my enjoyment of all the Bright and Beautiful books and I can revisit such a beautiful place any time I wish.

I've read all of James Herriot's books and had pictured in my mind the Yorkshire area where he practiced. The pictures in this book bring this area to life, and I can see it is every bit as beautiful as he described it in his books. James Herriot gives his personal memories of each picture in this book, which covers the area from the stark rock-fenced fields all the way to the coast. Beautiful area. I've always wanted to visit Yorkshire, but if I can't, the book takes me there.

I have to admit I am addictied to James Herriot's books. Having read them all a few years ago when they first were published and now again on audio discs in my car,they are so enjoyable. It is just like spending time with your very best and loved friends. I never want to turn my car off and leave these wonderful stories.When I took the family on a two month trip to the U.K. I insisted on finding the villiages up in Yorkshire where James Herriots tales come to life.This was a bit of a task because Darraby does not really exist except in the lovely pages of his books.This is a beautiful book that takes the reader on a precious journey through his world.

I had purchased a paperback of this book, and the photos were all in black and white. I couldn't imagine what I had read about these wonderful photos of Yorkshire, and then I found the Colored photo version, and it is beautiful. Reading such a lovely narrative along with seeing the photos is very delightful. Yorkshire is a really special area in England.

Billy writes with the kind of vulnerability we all feel in our hearts but rarely share, even with our closest tribe and maybe even ourselves. Do yourself the favor in reading the words you have probably felt but did not have the words for. We are not alone and Billy reminds us of that endlessly.

This. Everything about this book. Perfect. There was not one single page that I did not like nor relate with. This book is worth every cent to buy. It’s not one of those thin poem books that you find on here, there are 279 pages to be exact. Wonderful writing and a beautiful message! I received it in the mail today and finished it within two hours. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone in need of self love and self healing.

Not everything you read can resonate with you and so many others. Some of his writings speak directly from or to my heart and mind. I thank my daughter for introducing me to his writing.

Going through a rough time in my life and decided to get back into reading and self love; so naturally I gravitated towards the brief overview of the book. After purchasing I read the entire book in a matter of hours, that’s how captivated I was by every word on each page. Well worth it!

I am talking about being consumed by the words not just reading or skimming through but feeling every word, rolling it off your tongue, having goosebumps, nodding your head and going "amen! to that" as you partake of them?This collection is personal and I do not know the author's intent but I could only say "I hear you, I feel you," as I read most of the poems and my two-cents is that it's in line with the ever changing metamorphosis of a chameleon.Thank you Netgalley for the eARC, I am seriously bummed as a reviewer that I cannot quote the poems I want to, but hey...that's brilliant of you because I'd quote half of this book!

It's really hard to find stories about surviving and thriving in this world that aren't either full of doom and gloom or full of blame on all sides. Really hard. This book shares an intimate portrait of a young woman whose hardships are unenviable and yet has come out the other side full of hope. Michelle's story is subversive because it dares ascribe power to something OTHER than self, and does so apologetically. Her advice is filled with compassion but leaves no room for hate--either for the world or for yourself. Though this short self-help/inspirational work is written by a millenial, I think all ages would benefit from reading about how Michelle found the freedom to choose joy.

Onuorah5 StarsMy first read by this author and Holy Moly what a read...I'm not a deeply religious person as far as the different religions, but I'm a sincere Christian and I completely appreciated this author sharing this story. It had me asking myself a lot of questions, some I really didn't have answers to and others I felt like I was on the same page as this author.I read this in about an hour and spent a bit of time after with many thoughts going through my head. As far as the writing style this author has, I loved it...Every word flowed perfectly and smoothly and I'm really looking forward to looking into her other books especially Jane...I really must read that book.Thank you Miss Onuorah for sharing this story, I can not imagine it was easy to write but I am so thankful I was able to read it!Awesome!

I've read quite a few books that attempt to summarize, or draw lessons from what it means to live a life walking in faith. Very few resonate like this one. Maybe because the author isn't trying too hard to seem holy, or perhaps because she is almost shockingly honest about what it was really like going through things she walked through, this book hit me really deeply. As a non-fiction narrative, this book is as engaging as any drama as the author goes through sharp twists and disappointments in life ranging from "first world problems" to deep, soul-crushing moments. Even if you don't identify as a Christian or don't believe in God, there is a lot to be learned, practically, from how she walked through major challenges in life and what she did, or wished she did. But as a Christian...wow. Being able to read the parallels in her faith journey and my own, I learned a lot from her open, honest depiction of her walk with God and the lessons he's taught her. Even if you've never gone through a single thing she walks through in the book, you will see elements of your own journey with Him through her eyes. This book challenged me to open myself more fully to God, pushed me to turn my decisions over to His hands, and encouraged me to lean on Him more fully without fear of losing His love. Among so many other things, it reminded me how powerfully life can change when you get vulnerable with God. I can't recommend it enough!

Imagine you have your life planned out the way YOU want, but God has other plans for you and it is a 180 from the reality you had in mind. This is what happened with Michelle N. Onuorah’s life in the 5 years from when she graduated college. And it started with 4 words: “We’re letting you go”.WTF, God is Onuorah’s memoir of her unexpected life that God had planned all along. Yes, the title means just what you think it means. Imagine your frustrations with life take hold of you so much that you have to yell out “WTF, God!?!?!?” Yes, there is some foul language in this memoir, but it is not extreme as you may think it is going to be.Onuorah is candid about her life history, struggles, and her addictions despite her fears of admitting them to us, the reader. As I was reading it felt as if she was talking directly to me. I know a little of her history as I have read all of her previous works and enjoyed them, and even have communicated via email with her, but now I feel I know her more personally. WTF, God is a short memoir under 100 pages and can be read very quickly. In the first 90 minutes of reading it I was over halfway done with it!Despite the roller coaster that life may bring us, Onuorah shows us through sharing about her life that God knows what he is doing and to have faith in Him. Despite the title possibly turning you off of the book, please pick up WTF, God. You won’t regret it!WTF, God is recommended.

WTF, God?: Understanding God in the Midst of Transition by Michelle N. Onuorah was a pretty okay read.Alright first things first, this book was, way, and I mean way, out of my comfort zone. Being that it is non-fiction, and not a genera I tend to not dabble into, I didn't know what I was getting myself into.I have to say I liked the writing, and the quick wittiness. But that wasn't quite enough to pull me into the story. For me there was a lot of cringe moments, that kept pulling me out. For a short book I did have a time to fully get absorbed and lost. There were times that the jumps back and forth, as done and cleanly as it could have been, making me at times a little confused. Like the author was trying to get too many thoughts out, in one go.Overall this book, wasn't bad, it was as whole quite enjoyable. I did like the wittiness of the author, and you can tell a lot of heart and soul was put into this book. I did like how she picked herself up time and time again, and no matter what was tossed in her path she kept going with that strong will and wit. For this little peak into her life, I could tell the author is a wonderful person, and I hope her all the best.So to end, this book gets my stamp of approval and my high recommendation.Happy Reading-E.A.
