Richard Bernabe is a world-renown photographer and this latest book is a beautifully put together guide to wildlife photography. Laid out in logical sections from general equipment basics to strategies and info on travel for wildlife photography, this is a very easy and enjoyable read. Sections are short and clear. I just got Wildlife Photography by Richard Bernabe Photography and I highly recommend it if you want to level up your outdoor photography game.I was expecting a good book, but I wasn’t expecting it to be so comprehensive. It caters to all skill levels by covering everything from the basics of tech to the nuances of composition and how to shoot wild subjects. The stunning images and mini travel guides add great context to his tricks of the trade.I hope I can go to a couple of his destinations and try it out for myself someday. Until then, I’m going to get a picture of that Snowy Owl. Well, maybe not, but I’ll have fun trying.

I have followed Richard Bernabe for many years, and am always impressed with both his photography and his life philosophy. Along with his creativity, artful eye, and technical knowledge, Richard also has an innate sense of how to make a picture 'real', that is he presents not just an image, but also a feeling for its lifestyle, and survival needs. When you look at a Bernabe landscape, you are IN the picture, it surrounds you. This book's cover photo resonated strongly with me, in an almost 'expect the unexpected' kind of way'. A simple, calm, photo, beautifully shot to convey the glories of nature, its ability to present the viewer with an emotion, a sensation. The message is clear, it draws you into the rest of the book, where Richard presents his 'lessons' in ways that are concise, complete, and understandable. I find his work especially attractive in so many ways because he is a man who has found his bliss, has carved his path, and is willing to impart his art and his expertise to all of us who would perhaps thus be tempted to venture forth in his footsteps. Bravo, Richard Bernabe!

Wow. Let’s start by saying that when I saw the cover of this book I felt in love with it. And I guess I was right it feels amazing it’s a soft material, you feel like you are traveling with the author. Delicate. When I opened the book for the first time and saw the author biography I knew right there it’s a book to enjoy. The introduction takes you into the life of Richard and his traveling experiences. As a new photographer I see how this book it’s already helping me understand the details, the beauty of simplicity. I'm a fairly beginner photographer and I can say that I can't wait to delve into this book more. Of course the images are inspirational but I just love that there are such well written explanations of basic techniques like ISO, aperture and shutter speed. There is an incredible chapter on light which to me is the most important element in capturing an image. My favorite thing, though, is there are suggestions about gear that are actually within my budget....lot of sources suggest things that are totally unreasonable. Mr. Bernabe provides insight into expeditions and travel both abroad and gives ideas for trips and opportunities that dont require a passport or a lot of time away from work. All in all it's the best Christmas present I've gotten in a long time!

Richard is a fine wildlife photographer with many years of worldwide travel and shooting experience. This book is equally valuable for beginners as well as pro shooters who are interested in photographing wildlife. There are no downsides to this book. It is straight-ahead advice and suggestions. I enjoyed the local library copy of the original James Herriot book, but this "revisited" edition was a disappointment. Not nearly as many photos of the quaint villages, the photos are much smaller (not full page, and in fact about half page) and the narrative is not as lively or personable as the original's. Go for Herriot's original!

This is a really nice followup to the earlier James Herriot's Yorkshire. It really is a followup, rather than a revised edition. The text of the first book is all Alf Wight narrating his way through photos of Yorkshire. Absolutely great stuff. The text of this second book is mostly excerpts from James Herriot's stories, with a completely new set of photos. Buy the first book first.

I have read and thoroughly enjoyed all of James Herriot's books so knew I would love his book on the Yorkshires. The photography is stunning and the narratives quite descriptive. I can picture James in his rounds of the outlying farms rattling along is his ancient car and stopping periodically to take in the breathtaking views. This book enhances my enjoyment of all the Bright and Beautiful books and I can revisit such a beautiful place any time I wish.

I've read all of James Herriot's books and had pictured in my mind the Yorkshire area where he practiced. The pictures in this book bring this area to life, and I can see it is every bit as beautiful as he described it in his books. James Herriot gives his personal memories of each picture in this book, which covers the area from the stark rock-fenced fields all the way to the coast. Beautiful area. I've always wanted to visit Yorkshire, but if I can't, the book takes me there.

I have to admit I am addictied to James Herriot's books. Having read them all a few years ago when they first were published and now again on audio discs in my car,they are so enjoyable. It is just like spending time with your very best and loved friends. I never want to turn my car off and leave these wonderful stories.When I took the family on a two month trip to the U.K. I insisted on finding the villiages up in Yorkshire where James Herriots tales come to life.This was a bit of a task because Darraby does not really exist except in the lovely pages of his books.This is a beautiful book that takes the reader on a precious journey through his world.

I had purchased a paperback of this book, and the photos were all in black and white. I couldn't imagine what I had read about these wonderful photos of Yorkshire, and then I found the Colored photo version, and it is beautiful. Reading such a lovely narrative along with seeing the photos is very delightful. Yorkshire is a really special area in England.

Buy yourself this book and it'll be the best gift you get yourself all year. Share it with others and they will thank you endlessly. I dog eared 80% of "Sour Honey and Soul Food" it is that amazing. Billy writes with the kind of vulnerability we all feel in our hearts but rarely share, even with our closest tribe and maybe even ourselves. Do yourself the favor in reading the words you have probably felt but did not have the words for. We are not alone and Billy reminds us of that endlessly.

This. Everything about this book. Perfect. There was not one single page that I did not like nor relate with. This book is worth every cent to buy. It’s not one of those thin poem books that you find on here, there are 279 pages to be exact. Wonderful writing and a beautiful message! I received it in the mail today and finished it within two hours. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone in need of self love and self healing.

Not everything you read can resonate with you and so many others. Some of his writings speak directly from or to my heart and mind. I thank my daughter for introducing me to his writing.

Going through a rough time in my life and decided to get back into reading and self love; so naturally I gravitated towards the brief overview of the book. After purchasing I read the entire book in a matter of hours, that’s how captivated I was by every word on each page. Well worth it!

Have you ever felt words? I am talking about being consumed by the words not just reading or skimming through but feeling every word, rolling it off your tongue, having goosebumps, nodding your head and going "amen! to that" as you partake of them?This collection is personal and I do not know the author's intent but I could only say "I hear you, I feel you," as I read most of the poems and my two-cents is that it's in line with the ever changing metamorphosis of a chameleon.Thank you Netgalley for the eARC, I am seriously bummed as a reviewer that I cannot quote the poems I want to, but hey...that's brilliant of you because I'd quote half of this book!
