I bought this repair manual mainly because I needed a wiring diagram for my boat so that I could do some diagnostics and repair. I didn't expect to get a repair manual that was as good as this one is. It is readable and contains very good diagnostic and component testing information.Most aftermarket repair manuals aren't worth the paper they are printed on. THIS ONE IS DIFFERENT. I have owned name brand shop manuals that weren't as well written as this manual. Of course the user of this manual needs to have a fairly good understanding of internal combustion engine operation including the basics of fuel injection for it to be useful, but the information of how each system works, fault isolation, trouble codes, and sensor testing are detailed in this book.To use this manual one does need to sit down, actually read it, and understand what the manual is saying. Fortunately this manual is written in a way that reading it is very straight forward. Of course, if you are hoping that you can hook up a scan tool, waive the book over your engine, say a few magic words, and have it magically fix your boat, you will be disappointed.Pro's- - The book covers a limited number of years that are all related by some set of common technology. Many aftermarket repair books cover a decade of models and only have general information. - The book has specific information about specific models - Most of the diagrams are easy to read/see - The color coded wiring diagrams are very valuable - The general maintenance information is good - The book often tells you why, not just whatCon's - Even though the year range is limited, you still have to be careful that the information you are reading pertains to your specific engine or outdrive. - Some of the photographs (a very small number) that show the location of certain items are too dark to see what is being shown which I suspect is a printing problem and is not due to the original artwork.Overall I rate this book to be VERY GOOD as far as repair manuals are concerned.

Seems pretty thorough with the major components but lacking on the small things (Instruments, hardware, bilge) that a novice DIY-er would take on theirself. I'm basing this on my expectations having used numerous Automotive Haynes/Chilton's/Shop Service manuals over the years.

This is a great book. It has every engine and outdrive spec you'll need. Lots of pictures.

I bought this one for my regal lsr 2100 with a Volvo penta 4.3 gl and sx drive. The manual cover both things, very detailed. This manual is the kind of manual you can read like a children's book, from the beginning to the end. It covers all the maintenance plus engine repair.A very good investment if you are a DIY

Ordered this manual since it's been so hard to find a mechanic to take a look at the boat. Within a few minutes, it paid for itself 10 times over. First problem diagnosed was a relay. I did look on the Volvo website to try to order it. Price was $24 on Volvo so I shopped and was able to find it for $4, big difference. It suggested a tool to diagnose other problems so ordered it and will proceed with that.

Worth buying as a secondary manual to the SELOC. If you can only buy one, go for the SELOC manual

Excellent resource for my husband for working on his boat.

Bill lays out in no uncertain terms the choice before us. It's not extinction vs permanence, it's accepting limits vs forever managing the planet's life support systems ourselves. I was clearly born to be an engineer and as a teenager told my mother we would one day control the Earth. It would happen gradually, the way my great grandmother had a pace-maker to assist her ailing heart. We'll do the same to nature, gradually replacing its function with our own design. Think genetic engineering, then in its infancy when he wrote this book, now widely practiced in our food production, despite many objections. Bill's not optimistic about our ability to avoid this fate. Neither am I. But if you agree that it's worth trying, even in the face of failure, to preserve the mystery and power of nature, this book may give you some inspiration to keep trying.

Mr. McKibben's book demonstrates clearly how humans have rushed headlong into "improving" our mode of living and created massive injury to our homeplace: Earth. Hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis larger, more numerous and more destructive than we have ever seen before are showing us - if we are not too blind to see - that we are creating crises with ever-increasing speed. Earthquakes in places we have never seen before, huge oil and sludge spills that are killing our wildlife, destroying .our vegetation, making neighborhoods unlivable in the foreseeable future: all are eloquent signals that we have no choice but to change our thinking and our behavior.This destruction did not begin in our century. It has merely picked up increasingly more speed as we go. Nature has been reliable in spite of our unreliability toward nature. We've never seen a living passenger pigeon, because it was made extinct by hunters more than a hundred years ago. Our salmon, trying to swim upriver to spawn, are running into dams that stop them. Some of us remember DDT. It was banned in this country decades ago, but we are still living with the consequences, with some birds' eggs with such thin shells that they are crushed before they can be hatched. Soon after WWII pregnant women were giving birth to deformed babies. Many of those babies died.The time has come to recognize our failing condition and change now.Mr. McKibben has spoken,eloquently .

So, I am finally reading The End of Nature; one of my sisters who doesn't even read that much raved and told me to read it. I remember being so impressed by Bill McKibben when he published it (in the New Yorker I think), as he is the same age as me, and I admired such eloquence, scholarship and great writing from someone in their late twenties. And now, finally reading this book, I am thinking, well, I am even more impressed, because I am so struck by how beautiful the writing is in this book, on nature itself, and on man's view or idea of nature. The ideas of separateness, boundaries, limits, and humility, and that these are good things, run through my mind as I read this book. The problems existing in 1989 from global warming make me think that the book was written only recently. Anyway, I recently read Eaarth, Deep Economy, and Enough (another REAL eye-opener for me), and I surely appreciate this man (and his concern, and care, and action, to get us cracking on this big, big problem).

Very interesting to read and learn about the beginning of our understanding of climate change. Brings the scientific evidence to the forefront whether one chooses to believe or not. Obviously this was written some 25 years ago or so , so our science today is better informed. Still worth the time to read this to understand what all the controversy is about.

Quite a bit "out of date" at this time and a bit depressing though somewhat "optimistic" given present reality as perspective on its original release date. Still, the End of Nature is useful in its comprehensive treatment of the subject and remains what I believe to be an important read.

The book is a bit old, and I didn't always agree with all of McKibbin's philosophies; but 90% of the book's contents, I did agree with (can't argue with unmanipulated facts and statistics), as well as with his ideas and suggestions. The book was quite disconcerting, but TRUTH must be faced, ugly or not. I want to look up some of the 'predictions', which by now must be being fulfilled, or disproved, but I haven't the time, and I actually dread the confirmation, too. I am using this book for reference. It is/will be a big, "I told you so," to those who adhere to the old method of "ignore it and maybe it will go away," when presented with mounting evidence of our very serious environmental circumstance. But, that is little comfort to those of us who are the voices "crying in the wilderness,"--figuratively, and in the not-far-enough-future, likely a physical impossibility as our wildernesses are disappear at such an alarming rate.

As a vet student looking for more information to benefit my studies, this book was a good deal. Covers a lot of small animal, but is lacking in large animal.

Useful as a reference for Licensed technicians safely taking and positioning radiographs of veterinary patients.

The book I got was a print-on-demand book, and the quality of the images was sub-par. This textbook is supposed to demonstrate ideal radiographs and technique, but the reprinted pages and images were so poor that all of the rads looked over/under-exposed. For example, the illustration of the ideal abdominal film is a black box with only a spine showing. There are many books that print-on-demand works great for, but it doesn't work great for ones where the quality of the illustrations is so important. The actual text was suitable and instructional. I wish I bought a used first edition instead of a new one.

When I was reading the book, I have this feeling as if a wise teacher was talking to me the whole time. I “devour” the book in record time. I made many highlights, bookmarks, and screenshots because so much information has resonated with me, pulling my heartstrings. The book is inspiring, but it also comes with practical action steps.The immediate application I had today was – do the one thing I resist, first. So I focused the first 3 hours of my time in the morning, just to do that one thing I needed to do but procrastinated for as long as I remember. The feeling of accomplishment afterward made me feel so good about myself, the rest of my day becomes joyful. Then I did one thing that I feared of rejection. Although I don’t have an answer yet, I am happy that I did it. There are so many gold nuggets and tactics I can implement, I plan to go back to the book again and implement more, especially in the self-discovery part - the purpose of life exercise, and setting goals. I really like the conclusion, “You’re either living an empowered lifestyle governed by intentional action, or you exist to service someone else’s agenda.” Why not build a life by my own design?

I have read all of Scott's books & I have found "The Master of Achievement" the best one thus far. After reading this book, you will have acquired a good enough mindset change toolset that you can work with immediately to boost your self-esteem.The book tackles a number of principles in sufficient detail that after studying each, you walk away feeling inspired & re-energised to take on the world. I particularly liked the "The Power of Priority Planning" which deals with the need to focus & avoid time wasters and "Turning Failure into Victory" which helps you to deal with life's setbacks.There are beautiful quotes that have been interwoven woven throughout the book that I have extracted & will pin on my wall.This book is indeed a masterpiece.

I enjoyed the 16 Strategies for Super-Charging Success. And the advice to "Do the one thing you resist -first", I'm going to apply this to my to-do list every day. When I first began reading the book I found myself highlighting so many things. I realized that I would be underlining the entire book if I kept highlighting and that it is a great reference book throughout! The parts about habits and internal and external obstacles are especially helpful to me. The author asks searching questions that made me think.

Love the way that Scott Allan simply and clearly paints the steps to develop a system to get things done. I very much resonated with the material shared, and look forward to implement it into my daily life.A great book for you if you are looking to become the master of your own life!

I have had the pleasure to read many of the Author's books and The Master of Achievement is his best book yet. The nine principles were eye opening and very helpful towards achieving what you want in life. I also liked how the 16 characteristics can be integrated into our daily lives. The Author also covers how to eliminate distractions and how to create positive habits to empower our lives. This book is full of great information and is very positive and encouraging for the reader. I highly recommend adding this book to your collection.
